is cardio necessary

More effective: cardio or strength training?
I saw a news spot tonight about strength training being more effective than cardio for weight loss – although personally, I recognize that cardio is necessary for heart health, I wonder if there’s any truth to this. I’m not personally in need of losing weight, so please don’t give me advice – I’m just curious if it’s possible for strength training to be that effective for fat loss.
you have to combine cardio with light weight training because doing cardio you lose fat and muscle and muscle is what burns more calories so you dont want to lose it
if you were just to do strenght training i dont think you would lose any weight
