cardio interval training elliptical
Interval training on Elliptical Machine?
I’m a f aged 27 5′2 and 59kgs. I do 25min elliptical cardio 3 to 4 times a week together with weights. When i do steady moderate pace for 25min at level 8 i burn around 350 calories however when i do 5 min warm up 1 min all out 1.5 rest and alternate i only burn around 250 calories. Which one is really the best? Cause machine marks one thing while Interval training it’s said that it burns more. How can it be so? How come than calories burned is 100 less? thanks
The intervals are better BECAUSE, with steady state cardio you only burn calories when you are doing it. Once you stop you arent burning calories anymore. Intervals kick your metabolism in and even though you dont burn as much whule you do it, you continue to burn calories and fat through the day. Intervals are also better at preserving muscle mass, which you want because muscle burns caloires just for existing. Steady state cardio also requires you to increas it more and more often because your body adapts to it so fast. Its really only best to do it if you areinvolved in a sport that requires high endurance like running marathons or long distance cycling.
