weight gain cardio

How bad is it to gain weight to gain muscle continually?
I lost about 17 pounds thrue cardio, diet, weight lifting..Havent gained any muscle for 2 months.I stopped the cardio and have gained 7 pounds already in 2 weeks.Is it bad to stop the cardio like this and just focus on lifting.And whens hould i begin the cardio again..Thanks for your answers
No its not bad that you stoped cardio the weight is probably muscle weight
